colortest-python software package provides utility to test color capabilities of terminal, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install colortest-python
colortest-python is installed in your system.
Make ensure the colortest-python package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep colortest-python *
You will get with colortest-python package name, version, architecture and description in a table
